Immerse your students in Milk Crate Theatre's inclusive approach to performance making!
At Milk Crate Theatre, we effect social change through the power of performance. We are a vibrant and accessible space where artists of all backgrounds come together to create provocative and transformational performance works. We believe our creative processes are valuable for students as they navigate some of society's most pressing issues and will challenge and expand perspectives that inspire positive change.
MCT Learn provides dynamic workshops, seminars and customised programs that support your students to deepen their performance craft and build confidence. Led by MCT's Facilitating and Collaborative Artists, we are experienced makers who enliven MCT's approach to Community Arts and Cultural Development (CACD) and place the unique needs of your classroom at the centre of our experience together.
Whether it's two hours, two days (or longer!), our in-person creative workshops deliver a practical introduction to MCT's devising techniques. Our workshops respond to the unique age and stage of your students and will include:
A dynamic and inclusive approach to group devising
Pathways to character development
Creative tools for advancing plot and storytelling
Physical performance craft (for all bodies and abilities)
Suitable for Stages 4-6 Drama.
This workshop can also be delivered for Stages 1-3 with a focus on role play, playbuilding and an introduction to the elements of dramatic tension.
Ever wondered how Milk Crate Theatre creates their work? Then this is the seminar for you! Hear directly from our team and community of Collaborative Artists as we share the history behind MCT, our approach to Community Arts and Cultural Development (CACD) and the social impact our work has on the ground. This interactive session includes plenty of time for your students to ask their burning questions via a Q&A and can be delivered anywhere online across Australia.
Suitable for students studying Preliminary and HSC Drama, English and Society & Culture.
We'd love to collaborate! All our programs are inclusive, accessible and can be designed to your specific needs. Get in touch with our Education Manager, Alex at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss your requirements. Auslan interpreting, live captioning and tactile tours are all available on demand.
