WEEK TWO

PROTAGONISTS, CHANGE & THE DEVIL IN THE DETAILS: CORE "RULES" FOR NARRATIVE FILMMAKING

This week, we cover the core of narrative storytelling - protagonists! We discuss how change is at the core of all stories, the difference between active and inactive protagonists, and how to draw an audience in with details.

EDITING A: RHYTHM! MAKING YOUR NARRATIVE "FLOW"

This week we talk EDITING - in particular, we talk about the importance of rhythm and flow to making your film feel right. We talk about the basics of timeline editing including rough cutting, using match cuts, overlays and juxtaposition. The tutorial uses Adobe Premiere Rush, but the principles apply to all editing software, including the free stuff!
