Thank you Cumberland Council

June 8, 2018

Milk Crate Theatre is excited to announce that we have become one of 51 organisations to receive support from Cumberland Council through its Community Grants Program.

Cumberland Council has handed out more than $600,000 to community organisations as part of the 2017-18 Cumberland Community Grants Program, which held a ceremony for recipients on 30 May 2018.

Milk Crate Theatre's Program Coordinator, Paul Walker, was present at the ceremony and had this to say about the night:

"It was a pleasure to be there and see the other groups and organisations Cumberland Council is supporting through it’s community grant program. We here at Milk Crate Theatre feel very fortunate for Cumberland Council's generous support and are looking forward to furthering our connection to the area."

Milk Crate Theatre will be using the funds to put on a showing of the work created through the Evolve Housing for Youth Performing Arts Program in the Guildford area later this year.

Milk Crate Theatre is leading a series of creative workshops for young people experiencing homelessness and housing transition in partnership with Evolve Housing for Youth. Beginning in May, these workshops are currently being held at Henry Dodd House and are open to all young people in the Cumberland or Parramatta areas experiencing housing issues, aged 16-25 years.

We are excited to see what the young people create and present to the local community!
