Jessica Saras

Creative Producer

Email:

Jess is a professionally trained and working actress with over 15 years of experience in this field, holding a BA in Acting for Screen and Stage from CSU Wagga.

Jess has been a part of the MCT Community in a variety of roles since 2016, currently serving as Creative Producer. Jess is pivotal to mounting Milk Crate Theatre's major productions and projects, whilst also implementing and managing MCT's entire workshop program.

Jess continues to expand her knowledge and experience as a Producer, initially as Production Coordinator on the 2019 major production, NATURAL ORDER. Since then, Jess has produced several works including: the short film suite WATERLOO with residents of the Waterloo Housing Estate (2022); DUST held at The Richard Wherrett Studio, Roslyn Packer Theatre Walsh Bay (2022); SOLACE, a co-production with Box of Birds/Stalker Theatre at Darling Quarter Theatre (2023). Most recently, she served as Assistant Director and co-producer for the co-production "Hello, Are You Still There?" with Shopfront Arts Co-op (2024). She was also creator, producer and host of Milk Crate Theatre's first podcast series "The New Stigma?" (2024)

Affectionately known in the company as MCT's YiaYia - preparing delicious food and making sure everyone gets fed is a strong value of Jess' (it should be noted that at this point in time she is not prepared to venture into catering full time).

Want to hear more about the workshop programs we have on offer or interested in a collaboration with Milk Crate Theatre? Get in touch with Jess... and if you are ever in need of a good meal, diary schedule re-vamp, pep-talk or song/dance/monologue - Jess is your gal.

Name, Title

In all that we do, we acknowledge that the foundations of Milk Crate Theatre are on Gadigal Land of the Eora Nation and that wherever we create, we walk in the footprints of the ancestors that were here before us. We pay respect to Elders past, present and to walk side by side, hand in hand for a healing future.
