WATERLOO CREATIVE ENSEMBLE WORKSHOPS
DEVISING THEATRE 101

WCE_scripts_Photo by Bethany Simons_edited.jpg

What is devised theatre? What is required in a devised theatre performance? How can I put all my ideas into a framework to create a new performance piece?

Devising Theatre 101 will take you back to the basics of creating new performance work. Grow a shared vocabulary for performance making and apply dynamic roles in design and dramaturgy to your devised piece.

Round 1 will provide a toolkit for how to approach devised theatre while Round 2 will present the opportunity to apply your new skills and ideas to the creation of a new work.

This series of workshops will offer great insight into Milk Crate Theatre's process behind the creation of some of their major works!

Our workshops offer professional training and development for community members to build performance and technical skills. Our workshops are open for beginners to those who have had a longer engagement with Milk Crate Theatre. We work collaboratively as a group and it's a great opportunity to connect with fellow creatives and have a lot of fun.
