Unity Marks – A time capsule for now is a 5 day holiday program for newly arrived young people in partnership with Settlement Services International (SSI). The young people will explore their identity and belonging through different art mediums, to produce a time capsule for themselves.
The Week will include:
- A podcast/digital interview- their voice and story.
- A poetry/story- Their inner world & language.
- A visual art work- Their imagination & culture in image form.
- A portrait of themselves- Who they are, right now.
Each child’s journey becomes part of a shared story of their new beginnings flowering in Australia. It will be something for now and something to look back on in their settlement journey in a new country. Bringing reflection and transition into the frame of the lived experience of these young artists. The children are encouraged to “Leave your mark. because every mark tells a story.”
This is a closed workshop series.
