Jonathan is Senior Lecturer in Theatre and Performance Studies at the University of New South Wales. He trained in performance studies at the University of Sydney and was awarded a doctorate for a thesis on queer kinaesthesia at the University of Western Sydney. He is co-author of Men at Play: Masculinities in Australian Theatre (Rodopi 2008) and A Global Doll's House: Ibsen and Distant Visions (Palgrave 2016). He is working on a history of entertainment in Australia and supervises postgraduate research in theatre history and popular entertainment.
