DEVELOPING ARTIST PROGRAM: STAGE 3

HERO IMAGE_DAP Collective 2025.jpg

We are thrilled to announce that we are presenting four new works-in-progress by our Milk Crate Theatre Collaborative Artists, in collaboration with the Sydney Opera House Create Space Artist Residency Program.

COLLECTIVE is an intimate showing of audacious new works-in-progress by four Milk Crate Theatre Collaborative Artists, who have been supported by individual mentors to produce their own new works for the first time!

This represents the third stage of Milk Crate Theatre's Developing Artist Program, offering professional development for Collaborative Artists to learn about producing, generating ideas, and identifying themselves as artists.

Kamini Singh, supported by mentor Natalie Rose, presents a woman's journey through love, loss and line dancing.

Owen Gill shares a series of sketch comedy scenes complemented by live music, created with Mentor Hayden Wright.

Kerry Bashford shares a tender musical sermon with a queer country vibe, mentored by James Brown.

Tejas Lorenco performs a layered narrative work exploring character, supported by mentor Charles Wu.

This project is directed by MCT Artistic Director Margot Politis, supported by Assistant Director Bethany Simons, and produced by MCT Creative Producer Jessica Saras

In all that we do, we acknowledge that the foundations of Milk Crate Theatre are on Gadigal Land of the Eora Nation and that wherever we create, we walk in the footprints of the ancestors that were here before us. We pay respect to Elders past, present and to walk side by side, hand in hand for a healing future.
