Hello from Peter our new Social Worker

Hey peoples,

Just to introduce myself. My name is Peter Hawkins and I have taken over from Tara as the new Milk Crate Theatre Social Worker. I will be working Mondays and Tuesdays, and for the first couple of weeks of the new round of workshops, I will be at Parramatta on Monday afternoons, and Ozanam on Tuesday afternoons, so our paths may cross there. I will also drop in on the Headway program when that kicks off, so I hope over the course of the next few months, I may get to say hello to a number of you. My background has essentially been in Community Development and Adolescent Health and Well-Being and I have over 25 years working as a Social Worker.

I am also a proud Aboriginal man from Wiradjuri country in Central-West NSW from a little town called Trangie, and I have kinship connections to the Gupapuyngu clan of the Yolngu people of North-East Arnhem Land where I have also spent some time. I love nothing more than being in remote Australia, on country and connected to the beauty of Mother Nature. I look forward to both meeting and getting to know some of you over the coming months and beyond.
