We’re excited to share the Phase 2 Report and Shared Impact Framework for the community-engaged arts sector!

The Creating Impact project is a multi-year national initiative bringing together arts organisations, funders, and sector experts to co-design and implement a shared impact framework for the community-engaged arts sector.

This report marks a significant milestone: the result of deep collaboration, co-design, and dedication from a passionate group of arts organisations. It captures the collective effort to build a unified approach to measuring impact—laying the foundation for meaningful evaluation and learning across the sector.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to the project group, who gave their time, energy and expertise so generously:

ActNow, Arts and Cultural Exchange (A.C.E), Brand X, Community Arts Network, CuriousWorks, Digital Storytellers, Empire Youth Arts, Improv Theatre Sydney, OpnSrc, Outloud, Sydney Youth Orchestras, Think + DO Tank, and The Push.

Thank you also to our supporters—Creative Australia, City of Sydney, and Create NSW—whose backing made this work possible.

And finally, a huge thank you to Huber Social, and the brilliant Michelle and Simon, for being such fun, thoughtful, and passionate consultants throughout the project.

Over the coming months, we’ll begin implementing and testing this framework in real-world settings, and we can’t wait to see how it strengthens our work and its outcomes.

In all that we do, we acknowledge that the foundations of Milk Crate Theatre are on Gadigal Land of the Eora Nation and that wherever we create, we walk in the footprints of the ancestors that were here before us. We pay respect to Elders past, present and to walk side by side, hand in hand for a healing future.
